Teen in motorised wheelchair killed by truck in Sydney

  • The 62-year-old tip truck driver was not injured in the crash 

A 16-year-old boy in a motorised wheelchair has died after being hit by a truck in Sydney’s north.

The teenager was struck by the large vehicle on the corner of Peats Ferry and Bridge Road in Hornsby shortly after 4.15pm on Tuesday. 

Emergency services were unable to save the boy.

The 62-year-old tip truck driver was not injured in the crash and was taken to Hornsby Hospital for blood and urine tests, Fairfax reported. 

New South Wales Police are investigating.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
