Worried parents flocked to the school but had to wait outside while police sealed off the area as detectives searched class by class for a weapon, Nine News reported.

A 16-year-old boy, who is said to be known to the victim, was later arrested at the Windsor Gardens school and is currently being quizzed by detectives.

Both are said to be students at the school, which was created from a merger of three different local schools in 2019.

‘Police are investigating after a student assaulted another student at a Windsor Gardens school this afternoon,’ said South Australia Police in a statement.
