A teenager has been airlifted to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after jumping from a boardwalk into a shallow pool.

Paramedics were called to a shallow ocean pool underneath the Terrigal Boardwalk in NSW’s Central Coast at 3pm on Saturday after reports a boy had jumped ‘into shallow water off the rocks’ from a height of three metres.

A CareFlight specialist doctor and ‘multiple’ NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

‘He was treated for suspected spinal injuries as well as a head injury,’ a spokesperson for NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia.

‘He was airlifted to RNS hospital in a serious but stable condition.’
