Teenager and his mates reel in massive three-metre shark in a five-hour battle while fishing at a popular swimming spot on his 17th birthday

A teenager fisher did battle with a massive three-metre shark for five hours before eventually reeling it in.

Kai George, from Sydney, was out celebrating his 17th birthday with a few mates when he encountered the predator.

Kai and his friends were off Lilli Pilli in Port Hacking, south of Sydney, when they came across the bull shark, Seven reported.

Incredible footage shows the shark fighting back as the boys try to reel it in. 

They eventually managed to drag the shark aboard, before taking a photo with it and letting it go. 

‘It was caught on my 17th birthday – We fought it from 8pm last night till 1am this morning,’ the teenager said.

The teenagers have form at reeling in sharks, having caught another bull shark in April last year.
