Teenagers, 18, are found dead in a Georgia creek

  • Bryant Wade and Cameron Smith went underwater at The Falls of Oconee Friday
  • Boys are thought to have drowned after Smith dived in to try and rescue Wade
  • Bodies were discovered 100 yards apart after a search by Georgia State Patrol

The bodies of two teenagers have been discovered at a creek in Georgia on Tuesday, according to local officials. 

Bryant Wade and Cameron Smith, both 18 years old, went underwater at The Falls of Oconee on Friday. 

The boys are thought to have drowned after Smith dived in to try and rescue Wade. They are not thought to have known each other.

Their bodies were discovered 100 yards apart after a search by the Georgia State Patrol and deputies in Madison County, officials told WSBTV 2.  

Wade’s grandfather warned others to stay away from the creek.

‘If you’re going to swim, go to the beaches, go to the lakes. Go somewhere where you got your lifeguards,’ Roger Smart told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Wade’s family has set up a memorial fund to benefit his parents. Donations can be made at any First American Bank location.
