Teenager’s dramatic high-speed chase with police in a ‘stolen car’

A teenager has been arrested and is facing time in jail after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase across western Sydney in a stolen car. 

Jordan Towney, 18, is accused of driving a car without a license with four teenage passengers before crashing and being arrested.

Five young women were handcuffed and escorted away by police at Bidwill after their wild pursuit beginning Good Friday, 9 News reported.

The 18-year-old was charged with five offences including theft, assaulting police and leading police on a pursuit.

The four passengers – all aged under 18 – were all charged with being in a stolen car, the publication reported. 

Towney faced Parramatta Bail Court on Easter Sunday and was refused bail.

Magistrate Ian McRae said the charges were ‘extremely serious’ which he thought would ‘ultimately result in a custodial sentence’.

The young woman is expected to face Mount Druitt local court on April 5.
