The moment a $200,000 Tesla supercar was side-swiped by a huge truck on a Sydney street has been captured on camera.

The shocking CCTV footage, obtained by 9 News, shows the white Tesla Model X parked on the street of a main road near a cafe. 

As the passenger side door opens, a massive semi-trailer can be seen approaching on the driver’s side.

The truck is so close to the Tesla that is scrapes the entire right side of the car, sending debris flying through the air.

The truck continues down the road and does not appear to stop after hitting the car.

It is not known if anyone was in the car, but if someone was getting out of the driver’s side they would have also been cleaned up by the truck.

The Telsa Model X can retail for up to $300 and has been marketed as the world’s safest SUV.
