As the decade comes to a close, reflective social media users from across the globe have revealed just how much they’ve changed since 2009 as part of the viral ten year challenge.
The #10YearChallenge has been circulating Instagram and Twitter, and sees users posting a current photo of themselves alongside one from ten years ago.
As the new year approaches, nostalgic users shared their mind-blowing transformations, also using other hashtags such as #HowHardDidAgeHitYou, #GlowUp, and #tenyearchallenge.
Here, FEMAIL have put together some of the best ten year transformations – from new hairstyles, to new bodies and even new babies!

As the decade comes to a close, reflective social media users from across the globe have revealed just how much they’ve changed since 2010 as part of the viral ten year challenge. User Robyn, from Scotland, shared her transformation and thanked bullies, writing: ‘To the people that called me fat years ago, I thank you, them chins needed to go’
British user Ashley looks almost unrecognisable compared to the last decade, and admits to having discovered ‘tattoos and gyms’ in his 2019 shirtless selfie (seen right)
This mum from Oxfordshire, Cotswolds had a very busy ten years, sharing her successes on the post she wrote: ‘I finished uni, qualified as a solicitor, fell in love, had George, got married, had Florence and had some fab family holidays in between’
Cute! Elsewhere, a lot may have changed for Josie Paterson from Scotland, (seen left before) but the bob seems to remain (seen right afterwards)
Meanwhile Adam, from an unknown location, appears to have trimmed down in 2019 (R) and looks almost unrecognisable in his before photo (L)
For Twitter user Rebecca Jacobs from Hastings, UK, it seems it was a matter of #50ShadesOfHairColours. Rebecca at 27 sported ruby red locks in 2009, left, and has gone for a dramatic change with a platinum bob ten years later, right
Some used the challenge to reflect on their relationship. For London local Emma Gunn, (seen left before and right afterwards) it has been both an exciting and challenging decade. She said: ‘Uni years, a bone marrow transplant, our first home, more cancer, a wedding and a puppy later – I wouldn’t change a second of it. Thanks @mattandes, it’s been a banging decade’
