Tennis News and Matches Info

There’s a lot going on in the tennis world right now and bookmakers such as Bovada tennis have a lot to offer those of us who are looking to make some cash in sports betting. Let’s have a look at some of the hottest news concerning tennis matches.

Andy Murray

Former world number one Andy Murray this week declared that he will be ‘shooting for the stars’ even if they hopes of winning another Grand Slam are slim. Late Thursday, the star lost his position in the US Open after loosing out to Felix Auger-Aliassime. This was the first Grand Slam singles tournament the 33-year-old has had after a hip operation back in January 2019.

Murray was heard to proclaim that the sport wasn’t easy even while he had no injuries but that he would try his best to ensure that he kept trying. It is notable that this was his second operation after the first one in January 2018.

Prior to his Wimbledon wins in 2016 and 2013, he emerged victorious in 2012 after winning his maiden Grand Slam title. With his hip injury, Murray knows that it’ll take time and effort to rebuild his body in order to get to where he was initially.

Serena Williams

When it comes to the US Open, Williams is currently on the third round and seems to be working hard to beat Margaret Court’s record of 24 singles titles. She recently beat Russian Margarita Gasparyan on Arthur Ashe 6-2 6-4 and seems to gain closer to her goal.

Serena Williams moved into the third round of   the US Open and a step closer to the magic 24. After the defeat of Karolina Pliskova, Serena Williams seems to have her path cleared for her to becoming the reigning championing of the Flushing Meadows.

Williams will soon battle it out against fellow American Sloane Stephens.

Sofia Kenin

The times have been great for Sofia Kenin, Australian Open Champion after winning against Canadian Leylah Fernandez, a 17-year old.

It is notable that the teens are back to battling it out at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Just recently, Katrina Scott received a thrashing from Amanda Anisimova. After the death of her father who also doubled up as her coach last summer, Anisimova decided to cut short her journey in the US Open. After winning against Scott, she was seen to blow kisses to the sky for her late father and reported that it was his memories that gave her the motivation to push forward during the match.

There was an all-teenage battle on Louis Armstrong Stadium, where 19-year-old Amanda Anisimova defeated 16-year-old Katrina Scott 4-6 6-4 6-1. It is notable that there are many who think that following Maria Sharapova’s retirement, Amanda Anisimova will fit into the shoes she leaves very well.

The similarities between the two players are hard to ignore and all eyes are on Anisimova to see whether she’ll turn out to be as outstanding as Sharapova. When she was growing up, Anisimova looked up to Serena Williams and Sharapova.
