Terrified parents claim they’re recording haunting images on their baby monitors

A Los Angeles couple has been left shocked when they discovered ‘ghostly’ splotches on their baby monitor on numerous occasions. 

Natalie Wallace and her husband figured that the pink and purple splotches surrounding their baby’s bassinet could not indicate motion, as they were said to have been. 

The mother had noted that when she first saw the apparitions on Cocoon Cam baby monitor, her infant was in a deep sleep at the time.  

Her husband had even managed to take a screenshot of one of the figures that they had seen looming over their baby.

But according to Lawrence Balter, a professor emeritus of applied psychology at New York University, the parents could be imagining things because of how worried and nervous they are for their child’s safety. 

‘If you weren’t nervous you probably wouldn’t make that interpretation,’ he explained to the Wall Street Journal. 

‘You’d say it’s probably some sort of technological glitch. But if you’re nervous and worried about your newborn’s well-being, you might jump to a conclusion that’s less than logical.’

‘When the camera is properly installed, the computer vision would focus on the baby’s motions—waking, sleeping, even breathing,’ he explained. 

McMath added that the movement could be movement like lights, shadows or blowing curtains. 

‘We have gotten a few calls/emails asking about similar phenomenon,’ he added. 

Joshua P. Warren, a paranormal investigator in Asheville, N.C., offered his own opinion. 

‘It definitely looks like we may have some ghostly activity here,’ he said. 

Warren said setting up more than one camera could help capture multiple angles of an object. Natalie Wallace captured other images in motion but found that those did not have the same color as the ones she had seen for the ‘ghost.’ 

The couple have since turned off the motion-detection feature for the monitor. They only keep the audio on in case the baby cries while they are downstairs.

Adrianne Wright, a mother who owns a PR firm in Brooklyn, recalled a time she was relaxing with her husband last month when their Nest Cam app picked up motion. 

‘We rolled our eyes like, ‘Please don’t be awake,’ ‘ said Wright. ‘I looked at the camera and noticed the closet door was open.’ 

Wright was immediately worried once she realized her husband hadn’t opened the closet. 

‘I went to her room and looked at her and she was fine. I sat in there watching her for an hour,’ the mother added. ‘I could not go to sleep that night.’

Warren explained that it was vital not to read too much into the instance. 

‘The challenge when it comes to analyzing these things is you can only work with what you have. I want to say there’s probably a more likely explanation before jumping to the conclusion that it was something paranormal,’ the paranormal expert added.
