This is the terrifying moment a thug smashes the glass door of a pub with his bare hands as an angry mob shouts at bouncers.

The clip, filmed in Dudley, West Midlands, captures a group of men as they argue with bouncers at the door of the Stourbridge Lion pub.

A hulking man, at the head of the group, points towards a bouncer inside the pub as others in the mob crowd closer.

He then reaches to his left, grabs the loose glass panel of a door and pulls it from the frame with his bare hands.

The top of the material shatters as he bends it, covering the ground with sharp pieces of glass.

He then thrusts the remaining glass into the way of the bouncers, kicking it towards the two men as they attempt to defend the pub.

One of the bouncers says ‘Come on man. Chill out man’ as he holds onto the broken pane of glass.

The material then lies limp between the bouncer and the thug as others begin to push towards the door again.

The four men, who were removed from the venue earlier in the evening, had fallen into an argument with door staff as they tried to re-enter the pub at 1.10am on Sunday, West Midlands Police said.

The force also confirmed it is investigating the incident and said no arrests were made.

A spokesman for Amber Taverns, which owns the Stourbridge Lion, confirmed he was aware of the incident.

He said: ‘We operate a strict admissions policy at the bar and the persons involved in the disturbance had been refused entry.

‘The door supervisors acted with professionalism and ensured our customers remain safe during what was an isolated but extremely unsavoury incident.’

Social media users took to Facebook to comment on the actions of the men outside.

Rachelle Hanke wrote: ‘You know what, I work at the Lion. We held the door strong. From idiots who think they are Bobby ten men and destroy public property, our door team were amazing.

‘They kept our venue safe from harm from more idiots thinking its OK to do what they want.

‘Team Lion still stands proud and strong and won’t let anything happen to their customers.’

Paula Pearson wrote: ‘Their parents must be so very proud.’

Ryan Wickett said: ‘Cretins.’

A knife arch, which detects metal as people walk through it, was installed in the pub in June after a series of incidents in the area.

Ryan Passey, 24, was killed in a nightclub just a few doors down from the Stourbridge Lion in 2017.

Mr Passey, from Quarry Bank, Cheshire, was stabbed at the now-closed Chicago’s nightclub around 1am on August 6, 2017.

A sea of floral tributes were left outside the club in the aftermath of the attack, which shook the town.
