Terrifying moment a wakeboarder paddles by oblivious to the sharks swimming just below the surface

This wakeboarder paddles along unaware sharks are circling in the waters below him.

Stunned diver Dmitry Vasyanovich, 48, photographed the scary moment as he observed tiger, hammerhead and blue sharks near Grand Bahama Island.

The photographer from Moscow, Russia, was diving at the beginning of last year as part of a specially organised trip.

But he held his breath as the wakeboarder passed the dangerous predators and continued on safely.

Dmitry said: ‘There are no borders in the sea so you can never be sure what animals you are going to see.

‘We were lucky enough to see a big group of blue sharks this time, they are pretty safe.

‘We are well trained on everything to do with safety so we were quite surprised to see the surfer, who was probably not aware of the sharks and us watching him from the bottom.’
