Two schoolboys who were flung from their seats during a motorway crash have been left ‘traumatised’ but unharmed, their mother has revealed.

Norseha Abdullah, 44, was driving with her three children when a 34-year-old woman’s red Proton Waja swerved into her car on a motorway in Malaysia.

Ms Abdullah was with her daughter and two sons, aged 11 and 13, in her black Honda City on the North-South Expressway near the town of Nibong Tebal in Penang when the Proton started to pass them in the fast lane.

Dashcam footage of the crash showed the Proton start to edge towards Ms Abdullah’s lane.

The Proton’s driver tried to swerve back into her lane but lost control and the front of her car smashed into the side of the Honda – sending them both into the left-hand barrier.

Both cars bounced back off the metal railing into the middle of the road with the impact propelling the two boys out of their seats and on the tarmac.

Their mother and sister rushed out to wrap them both up in an embrace.

The Proton driver, who was with her twin daughters, reportedly suffered minor injuries to her left leg and neck. Her children were uninjured.

The woman, who is Chinese, has been issued a summons and local police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. It is unclear what caused her to lose control.
