Texas daycare refuses to accept married lesbian couple’s daughter

Married lesbian couple’s toddler daughter is refused enrollment at Texas Christian daycare because of their same-sex relationship

  • Brittney and Stacey Ready said the Parkview Christian Academy in Waco, Texas refused to accept their daughter’s enrollment
  • They were told it was because their same-sex marriage didn’t align with the daycare’s Christian-based faith
  • The couple have been married two years and have four children together
  • They said their youngest daughter had been on the waiting list for several months before a spot opened up last week
  • The couple toured the daycare before being told their daughter wouldn’t be accepted

A Texas couple say a Christian daycare refused to accept their daughter’s enrollment after learning they were lesbians.

Brittney and Stacey Ready’s youngest daughter Callie was on the waiting list at Parkview Christian Academy in Waco for several months before a spot finally opened up last week.

The couple, who have been married two years and have four children together, said they immediately went to visit the daycare where they were met by a ‘super sweet and welcoming’ director.

But as they were leaving the daycare with the paperwork, the couple said they were called into the administrator’s office and told that Callie couldn’t enroll because of their same-sex relationship.

‘Parkview Christian Academy denied an innocent child due to the choices of her parents,’ Brittney wrote on Facebook.

She said the administrator told them he had heard they were ‘mates’ and therefore couldn’t accept Callie due to their Christian-based faith.

‘So does that mean ‘unwed parents’ can not enroll their kids? Does that mean ‘divorced parents’ cannot enroll their children there? Because sin is sin and Jesus sat and welcomed allllll the sinners,’ she wrote in the scathing post.

‘We were not trying to plague your daycare sir, WE ARE GAY, our daughter IS NOT! Never in my life have I had this happen and it especially affect our child.

‘Our child (was) born in a catholic hospital, at the hands of a Christian doctor, our innocent child of God. I am glad God was on our side and let the true colors show before my baby was subjected to their ‘discriminating beliefs’.’

The couple said in an interview with KCEN that they want a Christian education for their children and wished the daycare had been open from the start about the rules for enrollment.

‘If that’s what they stand for, that’s what they stand for, but make it known that’s what you stand for. And remember, at the end of the day that everyone’s human,’ Brittney said.

Stacey added: ‘We speak to our children about being a Christian, and we speak to them about God and about what the Bible says – even about what the Bible says about same-sex couples.’

Parkview Christian Academy has not commented on the incident.
