Geraldine flew away while the family was parking at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, Holbrook told KFOR.

‘It was just so weird,’ Holbrook told the station. ‘She got up really high and flew around and then took off. It was so weird.’

She said she believes Geraldine thought she was home because of the long car ride.

On Saturday, Holbrook shared an update about Geraldine, who was wearing a pink diaper, after the bird was spotted at a McDonald’s and a Motel 6.

‘Please everyone keep yours eyes open for a pigeon that may be behaving differently from other pigeons. She is going up to people for help,’ Holbrook wrote on Facebook Saturday.

Holbrook, who was born premature and diagnosed with autism, said Geraldine brought her peace.
