Texas rapper, 18, charged with murdering two men poses in his jail cell in a photo on his Instagram

A Texas rapper charged with capital murder for the shooting deaths of two men struck a pose from his jail cell in a photo that popped up on his Instagram account.

The image popped up on rapper Tay-K 47’s social media on Tuesday, the same day the 18-year-old was indicted for allegedly hiding a cell phone in his underwear.

In the Instagram post, Tay-K is sitting on the ground in a green jail jumpsuit with his hands pointed at the camera to apparently resemble guns. He’s currently being held at the Lon Evans Correction Center, a maximum-security jail in Fort Worth.

He captioned the photo, ‘Live from the Gates of Hell #freeme’. The same image was also posted on his Twitter account.

It’s not clear who posted the picture or when it was taken. His manager did not return DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

Guards at Tarrant County Jail confiscated a cell phone from Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, in late July when they were preparing to move him to Lon Evans because of a fight with another inmate.

According to the Star-Telegram, Tay-K tried to hide the phone and a charger in a sock stuffed into his underwear. When he was asked to remove it, ‘The Race’ rapper tried to throw the phone into the toilet and got into an altercation with one of the guards.

Being in possession of a prohibited item, like a cell phone, in a correctional facility is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, the outlet reports.

Tay-K is already charged with two counts of capital murder for the robbery and shooting deaths of 21-year-old Ethan Walker and 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar. Tay-K was 16 at the time of the crimes.

Walker was killed in July 2016 during a robbery at his Mansfield home. Saldivar was found dead in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A in San Antonio in April 2017.

Authorities believe Tay-K cut off his ankle monitor while on house arrest for the Walker murder, fled to San Antonio and killed Saldivar. Police said Saldivar had been arguing with a group of men in a car when he jumped on the hood and started kicking the windshield.

One of the men in the car, police said was Tay-K, leaned out the window and shot Saldivar. The month after Saldivar’s death Tay-K allegedly beat and robbed a 65-year-old man while he was out walking. He was indicted on an aggravated robbery charge.

Tay-K was arrested in New Jersey in June 2017 after an intense manhunt.

Authorities say he’s being held in a solitary cell for 23 hours a day and is only allowed one hour of free time.
