A woman stuck inside an SUV that was quickly sinking in a reptile infested lake in Texas was miraculously saved by local authorities.
An officer’s body cam filmed the high-energy rescue that took place on Saturday in a lake in Sugar Land, Texas. The lake is known for being inhabited by alligators and snakes.
Bystanders called 911 around 6.30am to report that the SUV was stuck in the lake.

It was said to have been ‘traveling at a high rate of speed, jumped a curb’ and sped off an embankment landing ‘several hundred feet offshore.’
Within minutes, officers arrived and immediately jumped into the lake, rushing towards the vehicle in order to bust the windows out.
Patrol units were then able to pull the woman back to safety.

As the woman was pulled ashore, her vehicle sank underwater.
She would later share with officers that she had fell asleep at the wheel and ultimately lost control of the SUV.
The driver was unharmed while an officer at the scene only suffered minor cuts.
