A 20 minute workout that the Victoria’s Secret Angels swear by for a runway ready body is launching across Australia this month and it promises to burn 500 calories (2,000 kilojoules) a session.
20PerFit, a ‘gym-like’ franchise in Sydney and soon-to-be Melbourne, is bringing an electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) exercise routine Down Under after it became the go-to fat burning method for models and athletes alike.
You can currently try it out at their Parramatta campus for $85 per single class or $45 if you’re happy to work in a group class.
The Melbourne studio will open on September 11 and a further Sydney store is opening on the 19th.

Personal trainers give their clients a wireless full body suit to wear during the duration of their training and it sparks an electrical current that triggers 150 times more muscle contractions than a conventional workout would.
‘The average person uses around 30 per cent of muscle fibres during a regular workout, while top athletes use up to 70 per cent of their muscle fibres,’ the website read.
‘During a full body EMS workout, up to 90 per cent of your muscles are activated, making your workouts more intense and delivering more results in just 20 minutes.’
It’s the equivalent of doing a 90 minute HIIT session at the gym, experts suggest.

Most of the workout involves simple movements like lunges, planks, squats and butterfly kicks to target the abs so anyone can give it a try.
One such session might include bicep curls, squat pulses, box jumps and crunches.

In his studio Core Club the ladies have wires attached to the suit that hook up to a machine, so he can control the power throughout the workout and vary it depending on which area they want to target more of.
