  • This Korean lip balm has a cult-like following and over 5,000 positive reviews

  • It costs $26 and can also be used as a moisturising lip mask over night

Beauty experts are going crazy for a Korean lip balm that has more than 5,000 five star reviews online.

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask can be bought in Sephora stores in Australia for a mere $26 and if the reviews are anything to go by, it will ‘change your life’.

This product is more than just a balm as it has also been created to be a mask that can be applied liberally onto lips right before bed.

‘While you sleep, the sweetly fragrant formula removes dead skin cells while infusing lips with berry extracts, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid so lips are supple and smooth by the time you wake up,’ the Sephora website reads.

The internet has been set alight by a Korean lip balm from Laneige called the Lip Sleeping Mask as it has more than 5,000 five star reviews online

The product has been enriched with vitamin C, shea butter and various fruit extracts like raspberry, strawberry and goji berry.

It also includes hyaluronic acid and minerals to form a protective film over the lips to lock in moisture as well as active ingredients.

If you want to use the product as a lip mask you need to lather on a thick layer before bed with the included spatula and wipe it off the next morning.

To use it as a balm, however, you will be unable to put anything else over the top of it.

This is due to how thick it is as it forms a barrier of moisture on your lips, meaning it takes a while to fully absorb.

Reviews online are overwhelmingly positive as customers have shared their honest opinions of the lip mask.

‘I have tried many lip sleeping masks but nothing compares to this one. I have not been a fan of other products from this brand but the lip sleeping mask is a big win,’ one person said.

‘Perfect for dry lips and it gets rid of all dead skin on your lips. Repurchased three time already,’ another said.

Another happy customer said she would go as far as to call it ‘perfect’.

‘This product lives up to the hype. Since I started using it my lips which are normally dry and flaky have been soft and supple. I would recommend this to anyone,’ she said.

Like any beauty product on the market there are also those who were less than satisfied with the product from Laneige.

‘You’re basically applying lard on your lips with a boujie little applicator. It instantly melts on your lips and you can taste the gunky lardy “ergh” taste and go to bed praying you fall asleep quickly so no more yucky fat seeps into your mouth,’ one reviewer said.

‘And then you have the pleasure of waking up with dried up lard on your lips. By that stage you wipe it off or you’ve had enough and lick it off, or it just melts off with your coffee and you think to yourself, why am I doing this if my lips feel exactly the same?’.
