Nicole Kidman’s modern take on Old Hollywood glamour at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards was made complete with false lashes.
Celebrity makeup artist, Kate Synnott, used $20 extensions to create a dramatic and of-the-moment look for the Academy Award winner.
Kate (who also works with Hailee Steinfeld and Dakota Fanning) reveals her step-by-step process on how to make falsies look full, voluminous and realistic.

The Italian fashion house said the number was ‘inspired by an old-Hollywood, glamorous aesthetic.’
While the dress is very Old Hollywood glamour, ‘that era isn’t her hair or makeup style,’ said makeup artist Kate Synnot. ‘So we decided to do a modern take with lots of lashes and a red lip.’
To make Nicole’s eyes the focus, Kate used Lashify, the affordable luxury lash extension system.
‘First, I used Gossamer Lashes in A12, the medium length, along the top lash line.’
At the outer corners of the lashes, the celeb artist placed three B14 lashes for fullness and volume.
Before and after applying each Gossamer Lash, she swiped Whisper Light Single Sided Bond to seamlessly blend the natural lashes with the Gossamer Lashes.
‘This was my first time using Lashify, and I have to say, the lashes are absolutely amazing,’ she revealed. ‘I cannot get over how realistic they look—and so lightweight.’
One-of-a-kind Hanut Singh gold chandelier earrings, ankle strap stilettos and a drawstring handbag, finished the Best Actress in a TV Series (Drama) nominee’s contemporary ensemble.
