The Bachelor: Jimmy Nicholson takes a dig at Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli

The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson has taken a dig at Bachelorette couple Brooke Blurton and Darvid following their shock split. 

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Thursday, the hunky pilot spoke about his rock-solid relationship with Bachelor winner Holly Kingston, while contrasting their romance to that of Brooke and Darvid.  

‘If Brooke and Darvid didn’t work out, that sucks for them but I was conscious of the fact I wasn’t going to call Holly my life partner if I didn’t see her as that just to keep everyone happy,’ he said.

‘We have been really true the whole time and I think that is maybe where people get it wrong.’ 

Jimmy also issued a grave warning to future Bachelor contestants, advising them not to jump the gun when it comes to public declarations of love. 

‘If you are not sure as s**t you are going to be with that person, don’t tell the world that you’ve found your life partner,’ he said.

Indeed, Brooke and Darvid weren’t shy to pack on the PDA after finding love on The Bachelorette last year, often referring to each other as ‘my person’ and ‘my life partner’ prior to their split. 

In an interview with Mamamia last year, Brooke said of Darvid: ‘I definitely have found my person and I’m definitely really happy.’  

Similarly, moments after the finale aired in December, Darvid wrote on Instagram: ”I can’t believe I found my person. When I entered this experience I can honestly say I had no idea what to expect, I’ve come out of this with my life partner and she’s so much more than I could have ever envisioned.’  

Unfortunately, Brooke was left blindsided just five weeks later when Darvid announced the couple had split earlier this month.

Darvid shared a post to Instagram, revealing the couple had parted ways, one month after The Bachelorette – on which they met – had ended.   

‘Hey beautiful people before my phone blows up. I just want to say right now I’m finding this really quite overwhelming and just as surprising to me as you guys,’ she wrote.

‘I just woke up to the news. It was definitely agreed to part ways. I just wanted to do it privately, amicably and respectfully.’
