The Bachelor’s Brittany Hockley reveals the one test contestants have to pass before being allowed on the show

She was jilted by Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins on The Bachelor in 2018, only to be ghosted by Timm Hanly after their stint on Bachelor in Paradise this year.
So Brittany Hockley knows better than most just how rocky the road to finding love can be for those who choose the reality TV route.
On Friday, the 32-year-old radiographer told KIIS 1065 that contestants must be in a good place in terms of their mental health before applying.

‘I say yes to a lot of crazy s**t and it’s always ended well for me, but I think it’s always ended okay for me because I was in a place where I was happy, content and confident in myself,’ she said.
‘This is the advice I give to people asking if they should apply… only if A) you’ve got a thick skin, because you need a thick skin… B) you have to absolutely be happy with yourself, emotionally stable and know who you are and what you want,’ she added.
‘There’s always a chance you’ll go down a path of a non-favourable edit.’

It comes after Brittany dismissed her former Paradise co-stars who have been complaining on social media about their ‘bad edits’.
She said on her Life Uncut podcast that the editing was in line with what she had seen in Fiji during filming late last year.
Brittany pointed out that obvious fact that post-producers can’t edit things unless they happened in the first place.
‘For this particular season I feel a lot of people’s edits has been pretty accurate, to be honest,’ she told her co-host Laura Byrne.

‘They can take snippets of conversation to make it look like they’ve said something – but you can’t make someone’s whole storyline into a villain if they haven’t said anything at all,’ she added.
Earlier this month, Brittany admitted she was ‘gobsmacked’ by how much her Paradise love interest Timm Hanly changed after filming.
‘We had probably a week where it was really nice and normal. And then it just took a downward turn rapidly – deteriorated rapidly,’ she admitted.
‘And we had a bit of a falling out over Timm’s behaviour, and I literally didn’t hear from him again.’

A few weeks after they left the show together, Timm ‘ghosted’ Brittany and reunited with his ex-girlfriend Briana De La Motte.
Brittany rose to fame in 2018 when she starred on Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins season of the Bachelor.
Brittany made it to the final two, along with Sophie Tieman, before Nick dumped both of them in the final episode because he didn’t love either woman.
