The Bachelorette 2019 finale: Timm Hanly is dumped by Angie Kent

Timm Hanly captured the heart of the nation with his eccentric personality and wicked sense of humour, but sadly that wasn’t enough to win over Angie Kent.

During Thursday night’s finale of The Bachelorette, the 27-year-old fireproofer was left heartbroken when Angie, 29, told him she had fallen in love with somebody else.

He took the news graciously as the former Gogglebox star let him down gently, despite the fact they’d shared intense chemistry throughout the season.

Timm even consoled Angie as she struggled to explain her feelings and gave her a commitment ring he’d bought for her.

Angie said that Timm was her ‘soulmate’ and ‘makes [her] laugh all the time’, but wasn’t quite able to put into words that she had a stronger connection with Carlin Sterritt. 

She burst into tears and, despite realising things weren’t going to go his way, Timm put his feelings aside and hugged Angie while telling her: ‘It’s alright… don’t cry’.

It was only after he’d bid farewell to Angie that Timm broke down in tears and spoke to producers about how devastated he was.

‘I was just waiting for the “but”. I could just see it in her eyes, there was a “but” coming. I knew straightaway when I looked at her…’ he said. 

‘That’s why you have your walls up, for that exact reason,’ he added before saying: ‘[I’m] never talking about my feelings ever again.’

After breaking up with Timm, it was time for Angie to confess her love for Carlin.

For weeks, it was rumoured that Carlin had only applied for the show to launch his acting career but Angie eventually decided to follow her instincts and trust him.

She began by saying: ‘I’m just gonna be honest, you’re usually not my type of guy. You’re very put together and I’m not put together. I’m not perfect.

And the winner is! After dumping Timm, it was time for Angie to confess her love for Carlin

His tearful exit from the show was met with a fierce backlash on Twitter, with viewers saying Angie had made the wrong decision by choosing Carlin.

One person tweeted: ‘I still can’t believe she chose the most boring man alive, I’m off to cry myself to sleep over Timm now.’ 

Another wrote: ‘I am never falling in love because I am too traumatised from being so invested in Timm this season. Ruined me. No longer trying.’
