The Bachelorette: One rule contestants must follow to ‘prevent family filing missing persons report’

Revealed: The surprising rule The Bachelorette boys MUST follow before they’re allowed on the show… and police can get involved if they forget

The Bachelorette contestants must agree to one very surprising rule before they’re allowed to start filming the dating show, it has been claimed.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia this week, one former star admitted they have to ‘tell at least one friend or family member they have been cast on the program’.

‘They make you do this to prevent anybody filing a missing persons report and the police getting involved as you could be away for so long,’ said the star who appeared on Angie Kent’s current season of the show, and asked to remain anonymous.

The contestant added: ‘As soon as production starts you have your phone taken off you and have no contact with anybody back home. You’re completely off the grid.

‘Obviously if you just disappear for months with no explanation, they’ll be concern. So you have to tell some people, mainly so they know you’re safe.’

Filming for Angie’s season commenced on June 20 in Sydney, with the finale then shot in Byron Bay in mid-August, with the finalists out of reach for months.

Prior to the first cocktail party in June, contestants were put into ‘lock down’ in hotels across Sydney, where they had no contact with the outside world.

The contestant also claimed that although you’re ‘completely uncontactable’ during the first few weeks of filming, producers later get in touch with their family.

‘If it looks like you’re going to make it to the home town dates, logistically there is a lot of planning to do in order to keep the show on schedule,’ the star continued.
