The Bachelor’s Brooke Blurton slips up during interview, confirms departure

It is widely rumoured that Brooke Blurton exits The Bachelor early this week, leaving Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins heartbroken.

And on Monday, the 23-year-old Indigenous youth worker seemingly slipped up by confirming her departure during an interview with NW magazine.

When asked whether she was in love with the rugby star, Brooke noticeably spoke about their relationship in the past tense – before swiftly correcting herself.

Whoops! The Bachelor’s Brooke Blurton slipped up during an interview on Monday, seemingly confirming she leaves the competition early

‘There is a lot of potential there between us, and I could see myself falling in love with him in time,’ she said. ‘I don’t do things by halves, and the L word means a lot to me. There was a lot of potential for the relationship… Or there is, sorry…’

Brooke added that the hometown visits made her think more realistically about her relationship with Nick, including the fact they live on different sides of the country.

‘Hometowns put things into perspective for me, and made me ask questions about the long-distance factor, with him going back to play rugby or whatever his plans were. There were definitely a lot of unanswered questions,’ she said.

Brooke’s early exit is thought to leave just two contestants in the competition: property valuer Sophie Tieman and radiographer Brittany Hockley.

‘Brooke left because she was just not falling for him,’ an insider told Woman’s Day last week.

‘She was rejecting his advances and realised her feelings weren’t as strong as his. Given this, she felt it was fair that she took herself out of the equation.’

'If Australia's ready for it, then let's do it!' Meanwhile, Brooke also revealed that she would be interested in becoming Australia's first bisexual Bachelorette

Meanwhile, in her interview with NW on Monday, Brooke also revealed she would be interested in becoming Australia’s first bisexual Bachelorette.

‘If Australia’s ready for it, then let’s do it! I don’t know how I would deal with that, but who knows? I think everything happens for a reason,’ she said.

Brooke has previously spoken about wanting to see a more sexually fluid Bachelor or Bachelorette in the future.

‘Love is pretty powerful and I love the fact that love is love, and people should have the opportunity to go on the show regardless,’ she told Who magazine on Thursday.

Earlier this season, Brooke told Nick that she had been in relationships with two women before applying for The Bachelor.

She does not identify as lesbian or bisexual and instead claims she is attracted to a person regardless of their gender, which suggests she is pansexual.
