The Bachelor’s Brooke Blurton tipped to be the next Bachelorette

She dated two women before beginning her journey on the current season of The Bachelor.

And according to Monday’s New Idea, pansexual Brooke Blurton is tipped to be next year’s Bachelorette.

Insiders reportedly told the publication that should the 23-year-old sign on, producers ‘want to cast both males and females’.

‘It will be a male and female cast’: Pansexual Bachelor star Brooke Blurton, 23, ‘is tipped’ to sign on as next year’s Bachelorette

‘That’s a game-changer for Australian television and it’s going to get fans talking, so the network bosses see it as a ratings success,’ the source reportedly said of Bachelorette producers’ hopes to secure Brooke.

‘[Producers] knew she was never going to be the last girl with Nick, but wanted to use the time [on The Bachelor] as a screen test,’ the insider added.

A Network Ten spokesperson told New Idea that casting for the next Bachelorette has not commenced.

The reports come a week after the brunette hinted that she could possibly become the franchise’s first pansexual female suitor.

Brooke said next year’s leading lady should be open to dating both men and women – a statement that suggests the possibility she could be a future Bachelorette herself.

‘Love is pretty powerful and I love the fact that love is love, and people should have the opportunity to go on the show regardless,’ she told Who magazine last Thursday.

Earlier this season, Brooke told Nick Cummins, 30, that she had been in relationships with two women before applying for The Bachelor.

She does not identify as lesbian or bisexual and instead claims she is attracted to a person regardless of their gender, which suggests she is pansexual.

She told Nick during a cocktail party: ‘This is really uncomfortable for me to tell you but… I’ve had two relationships with women.

‘When I was in those relationships, I looked beyond what they were as female and I really loved [them] for who they were as people.’

Brooke has spent the most time with Nick out of all the contestants on The Bachelor, but it has been confirmed she does not win the show.

It is widely rumoured that she leaves the competition of her own choosing rather than being sent home by Nick.

The remaining contestants are: Brooke, Brittany Hockley, 30, and Sophie Tieman, 25.
