The Bachelor’s Cassandra Wood ‘decided to forgive Nick Cummins after he broke her heart’

The Bachelor’s Nick Cummins told Cassandra Wood their relationship had ‘hit a ceiling’ when he sent her home in tears on Thursday’s episode.

But it seems the 30-year-old former Wallaby may have changed his mind, as it was reported this week they were secretly dating after filming the show.

According to New Idea on Monday, Nick ended his relationship with the ‘winner’ – widely rumoured to be Brittany Hockley – shortly after the finale and subsequently reached out to Cassandra, 24.

Nick apparently ‘struggled emotionally’ after filming the Bachelor finale in New Caledonia in late May and early June, according to a close friend.

‘He didn’t expect things to end that way and wasn’t really prepared to have feelings for more than one person at a time,’ they added.

While Cassandra was supposedly reluctant at first to take Nick back, the insider claimed she eventually gave the rugby star a second chance.

‘She understands why he did what he did. She believes in fate and thinks this whole thing will just make them stronger,’ the source said.

It follows a similar report by NW this week that Cassandra was having the last laugh after Nick supposedly came crawling back after dumping the show’s winner.

A source claimed the sportsman ‘pulled a Blake Garvey’ and abruptly changed his mind after declaring his love for radiographer Brittany, 30.

‘The pressure was on for him to prove that Cass wasn’t planted on the show for him, and he made a rash decision [to send her home], but it wasn’t a decision that he sincerely wanted to make,’ they said.

While Nick won’t be in the country on Thursday when the finale airs, the insider alleged that Nick and Cassandra will debut their romance upon his return.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Network Ten for comment.

Nick and Cassandra sparked controversy after it was revealed early in the season that they previously dated before the show.

She recently told Yahoo! Be that she first met Nick on her 23rd birthday in August 2017, a year before their on-screen reunion and that they dated ‘on and off’ for five months.

Since filming ended, the pair – who both live in North Sydney – have been spotted by eagle-eyed fans in the same vicinity on numerous occasions.
