The Bachelor’s Cassandra Wood says Nick ‘will always be the one that got away’

She left The Bachelor in tears on Thursday’s episode after failing to receive a rose from Nick Cummins following an eventful hometown date.

And months after filming those emotional final scenes, Cassandra Wood has admitted she still has feelings for the 30-year-old sportsman.

She told The Daily Telegraph: ‘He will always be the one that got away.’

‘I’ve had my heart broken,’ Cassandra admitted. ‘I finally felt like I’d found someone that I would be with in the future.

‘It was all working out and he turned around in the rose ceremony and didn’t give me a rose. It really sucks.’ 

Despite still carrying a torch for Nick, many viewers have turned on the former Wallaby after he sent her home before finals week.

Furious fans claimed on Twitter that Cassandra ‘deserved better than this s**t’ and called Nick ‘insensitive for leading her on’.

‘I’ve had a laugh at Cass’ expense from time to time but Jesus she deserves better than this s**t,’ one viewer tweeted.

Other comments included, ‘Why did he lead her on this much?’ and, ‘I feel really bad for Cass. She fell so hard, so fast. Poor girl. God bless her. I hope she finds The One.’

When Nick sent Cassandra home, he attempted to defend his decision by saying: ‘We had the best time, it’s not because we don’t get along like a house on fire, we do.

‘You’re an amazing woman, your smile lights up the room. We hit a ceiling on this. I’m hoping we can still be friends.’
