The Bachelor’s Matt Agnew reveals the TRUTH about his ‘fake job’ – as fans are left reeling by news he actually works for NAB and isn’t an astrophysicist

Bachelor fans were left reeling earlier this week, after it emerged that leading man Matt Agnew actually works for NAB and isn’t an astrophysicist.
But the 32-year-old responded to the controversy on Wednesday, telling The Kyle and Jackie O Show he is most certainly not a ‘banker’.
‘Before I went in filming, I was working as an astrophysicist, that’s correct,’ he said.

‘I was still employed as an astrophysicist during filming, I finished up some stuff after filming,’ Matt added.
‘But I [have since] pivoted and moved to a position as a data scientist.’
He claimed that his new job as a data scientist is actually quite similar to what he was doing before, and has allowed him to ‘develop his skill set’.
Clearing it all up: ‘Before I went in filming, I was working as an astrophysicist, that’s all correct, I was still employed as an astrophysicist during filming, I finished up some stuff after filming,’ Matt said, talking about his stint on the dating show
His job, explained: He said he now works as a data scientist at the firm, Quantium, which works with NAB
‘In the two months I’ve worked for [Quantium], I think I had two maybe three meetings at the NAB offices and this was sufficient to create the story that I’m a banker,’ he concluded.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Tuesday that Matt is officially employed by data analytics company Quantium, but has been working at the National Australia Bank for three months on secondment.
Matt reportedly works at the NAB’s Melbourne head office.
An NAB spokesperson refused to confirm to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday if the reality star worked there due to privacy, but added: ‘Quantium from time to time provide contractors to NAB.’

During the premiere episode of The Bachelor, Matt was forced to explain what an astrophysicist does after some of the contestants struggled to pronounce the title.
Ahead of the premiere of the show, Matt appeared on 10 Daily and said that his profession is key for the survival of the human race.
‘My specific research is about planetary science, so the stuff I’m doing is trying to figure out where another planet like Earth could exist, so we could actually look and find it,’ he explained.
