The Bachelor’s new host Jesse Palmer has married his fiancée Emely Fardo.

The presenter, 42, and Emely, 35, tied the knot in an ‘intimate ceremony’ at a friend’s house in Connecticut.

The couple decided to have a smaller wedding after they were forced to postpone and then ultimately cancel their wedding in Provence, France due to the Covid pandemic.

Speaking to People on Monday, the newlyweds said: ‘We were only able to invite a small group of close friends that live in the greater N.Y.C. area, and that were in quarantine at the time.

‘We had a lovely afternoon and look forward to celebrating our love with our parents and immediate families all together soon.

‘Big or small, wedding party or not, we feel so grateful and lucky to have found each other.’

The former NFL quarterback proposed to model Emely with a 3.5 carat diamond ring during a surprise trip to France in July 2019.

Jesse planned an idyllic getaway to Paris and Champagne, even secretly hiring Emely’s favorite wedding photographer to capture the moment when he asked her to marry him.

Speaking of his excitement at the time, Palmer told DailyMail.com: ‘I’ve been so enamored, so in love with this woman and it only has grown. I’m head over heels for her.’

The happy couple met by chance while taking a group boxing class together at Rumble in New York City two years ago.

Palmer said: ‘I saw her and thought she was beautiful. I didn’t meet her until later, she was coming in while I was leaving.

‘We ended up connecting and our first date was at Rumble two weeks later.’

Palmer said the first romantic vacation they took as a couple was in Champagne, adding he knew that if things continued well with Emely, this was the place he would propose.

He said: ‘I decided to propose somewhere meaningful, a place that was familiar to us. I decided this was the place.’

Jesse’s marriage news comes after he was seen for the first time on the set of season 26 of The Bachelor as he debriefed new star Clayton Echard on Friday.

Jesse was making his debut on the long-running reality competition after replacing former host Chris Harrison, who previously helmed the series for 19 years.

The Toronto-born athlete rose to fame first as a football player for the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.

After his football career, Jesse went on to become the youngest Bachelor at the time and the first foreign star of the series when he led season five in 2004.

At the end of the season he chose Jessica Bowlin, but rather than presenting her with an engagement ring he gave her a plane ticket.

However, the relationship ultimately fizzled out within a few months.

Since then, he has worked as a sports analyst for ESPN and a contributor to Good Morning America on ABC.

Presenter: Jesse hosted the first three seasons of DailyMailTV from 2017–2020, before being replaced by former MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts.

More recently, Palmer has been hosting the new reality series The Ultimate Surfer, which premiered in August on ABC.

He’ll be keeping busy with the network and its parent company Disney, as fellow Disney-owned network ESPN announced last month that he had signed a contract extension to continue as an analyst throughout the 2021–2022 college football season.
