The beer-swilling life of First Dates’s Jake Smithrevealed

He melted hearts during his appearance on First Dates Australia on Tuesday night as he nervously tried to woo farmhand Rebecca.

Reality TV contestant Jake Smith won over audiences with his mullet and quintessentially rural Australian personality.

And social media snaps of the lovable larrikin show he really is like what he presented himself as on the Channel Seven TV show.

Letting his hair down! Meet Jake Smith, the mullet-loving truck driver who captured the hearts of Australians on First Dates… and social media snaps show he REALLY loves to have a good time

According to his Facebook photos, Jake has a penchant for going out for beers with his mates, with one particularly illustrative snap showing the singleton putting on an animated display at the races.

Dressed in a dapper blue suit, Jake let his mullet-style hair down at the fancy event as he posed in front of a female companion.

Holding a beer, the truck driver rested against a pole while the stylishly dressed female friend smiled and casually rested her hand on his behind.

Other images show the down-to-earth larrikin and his friends with cans of beers and an esky during what appeared to be a camping trip.

While Jake may be unlucky in love, he doesn’t seem to short on company.

Other snaps show him enjoying drinks with friends on different occasions – including one instance where he posed with a beer in one hand while grabbing his crotch with the other.

When he’s not busy socialising, Jake works as a truck driver and has travelled extensively across Australia thanks to his job.

‘I get to see things and go to places most people never get to,’ he told The Gladstone Observer last year.

Jake’s apparent beer-swilling lifestyle seemed to have extended to his dating life as well, with the truck driver and farm girl Rebecca encouraging each other to skull drinks during their date.

He also enlisted help from his mates, calling them mid-date to give him courage.

‘She’s one of the boys. She’s a legend,’ he gushed. ‘[I’m] batting out of me crease.’

Meanwhile, invested viewers took to Twitter to declare they wanted the pair to have ‘the large bogan wedding we deserve’.

Another tweeted that ‘Jake & Bec are the new Kath & Kel’, referencing the iconic Fountain Gate love birds.

After his appearance on First Dates Australia, Jake took to his Facebook last night to thank people for the support.

‘I’ll do my best to get back to you but my phone has literally been hot!’ Jake posted.

‘I appreciate everything from everyone but I gotta get up early and be a “mad dog” so I’ll do my best in the am to get back to you all! Cheers legends.’
