THEIR performance on the pitch has been fuelled by sheer determination and has secured them a coveted place at Euro 2024.

But members of the Scotland football squad turned to a chippy to fuel their celebrations after qualifying for the tournament on Sunday night.

John McGinn and several of his teammates were spotted wearing their Scotland hoodies and ordering pizza crunch, fish suppers and battered sausage from the famous Blue Lagoon in Glasgow’s Gordon Street.

Several players were also seen joining ecstatic fans in a singalong at the nearby Wunderbar.

Scotland face France tonight (Tues) in a friendly but are already riding high after Spain’s 1-0 victory over Norway guaranteed them a place in the Euros in Germany next summer.

The chippy shared pictures of the players on social media with the caption: ‘Congratulations on qualifying for Euro 2024. See you in Germany lads!’

A spokesman for the Blue Lagoon told the Glasgow Times: ‘It was great to have them in the shop, they were all in great spirits.

‘John McGinn and other players ordered lots off the menu. I think they were celebrating on the back off qualifying for the Euro 2024.

‘They were bantering with staff who were really delighted to see them.’

The Blue Lagoon is used to serving a celebrity clientele as in 2016 Justin Bieber ordered the Scottish delicacy of deep-fried haggis and Irn Bru from the Argyle Street shop after playing a sell-out gig in Glasgow.
