The Block 2022 winners Omar and Oz demand a public apology after they were accused of rigging show with  controversial bidder Adrian Portelli: ‘That dummy spent almost $15m this season’

They were controversial winners of The Block last year after their millionaire pal Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli got into a bidding war with serial bidder Danny Wallis.

And Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman ‘Oz’ Abu Malik have hit back at their critics after Portelli spent a whopping $5million on Steph and Gian’s house during this year’s auction.

Omar and Oz both posted videos congratulating Steph and Gian after Portelli’s buy netted the young lovebirds $1.75million in profit.

The best mates also clapped back at critics who claimed their win on The Block last year was ‘rigged’ and Portelli was just a ‘dummy bidder’ to drive up the price of their home.

‘What a crazy ride, you guys deserved it, you had the best house on the Block by far,’ Oz said in his short clip.

He added: ‘Also congratulations to my boy Adrian [Portelli], keep doing your thing Bro, keep making them talk.

‘I wanna public apology from everyone that said Oz and I rigged that auction last year and we had a dummy bidder.

‘That ‘dummy’ spent close to $15m on the Block this season, So it is, what it is, I’ll be waiting.’

Omar added:  ‘Just wanted to congratulate Steph and Gian for taking out the win, absolutely the best house on The Block.

‘I couldn’t agree more with Omar – a public apology on everybody that thought Omar and I rigged the auctions last year.

‘Guys we knew who we networked with, we knew who we invited to our house, and we invited to bid on ours and this year our boy proved everybody wrong.

‘Not only does he change lives for a living but he’s a legitimate and successful businessman that wants to make a difference and wants to inspire every Australian.’

In their separate messages, the pair also congratulated Eliza and Liberty after Portelli bought their House 5 for $4.3million making the sisters instant millionaires.

The girls walked away with a net profit of $1,050,000.
