The Block arrest: Police arrive on set at the Gatwick Hotel as officers handcuff one person

The Block is rocked by a police scandal this week as multiple officers arrive on set and arrest at least one person working at the construction site.

A teaser aired at the end of Sunday’s episode showing one person, dressed in an orange hi-visibility jacket, being escorted into a marked police car by two officers.

Another frame showed at least five police officers congregating outside the Nine set with an unknown man wearing a hi-viability vest and hard hat.

The Block arrest: Police arrive on set at the Gatwick Hotel and lead one person off the construction site in handcuffs… as Jess and Norm clash in VERY dramatic scenes

It is unclear at this point if the person, or people, arrested are contestants on the show, trades people working on site or part of the crew in production.

The dramatic incident is set to play out this week on the Nine show, which airs Sunday-Wednesday’s at 7:30PM.

Introducing the shocking scenes, host Scott Cam said in a voice over during the teaser clip: ‘A break of a different kind brings the law to The Block.’

The preview then cut to a shot of a single police car outside the Nine set in Melbourne’s St. Kilda with five uniformed police officers next to it.

‘What are the cops doing down there?’ Bianca Chatfield asked while looking down at the developing scene below her penthouse block.

A poorly composed shot, presumably set up by producers in a desperate hurry to capture the action, then showed a single person being led away in handcuffs.

Shocked: As contestant Jess Eve reacted, it is unclear if the person, or people, arrested are stars on the show, trades people working on site or part of the crew working in production

Their face had been blurred, presumably for legal reasons, following a potential conviction after the incident occurred earlier this year during filming.

Two officers led the person, wearing the orange hi-vis jacket, into the police car.

Contestant Jess Eva, who was outside the site at the time, appeared overcome with shock as the camera then cut to her immediate reaction.

During a piece to camera later on with husband Norm Hogan, she expressed: ‘I cannot believe it.’

Serious situation: Although they are barely visible, their face had been blurred, presumably for legal reasons following a potential conviction

Although the edit made it clear that neither Jess or Norm are led away in handcuffs, the couple look set to endure a dramatic week regardless.

The teaser also featured the usual fun-loving couple coming to blows.

In one clip, Jess raged, ‘I’ve never heard so much…,’ at her partner, before he abruptly cut her off from presumably swearing.

‘Oh, carry on,’ he then spat back.

Revealing their blazing row was related to a fixture in their lounge, Jess screamed: ‘Actually, it is starting to get ridiculous, it’s a fireplace.’

‘You’re telling me? I’ve had to deal with it for a day and a half,’ Norm then responded.

A single shot later on then showed the 40-year-old getting teary following the heated confrontation with his partner.

It is believed their argument relates to an error that set them back $8,000 from their budget on the renovation.
