The Block contestants slam Sara and Hayden’s bathroom in unseen bitchy footage

The Block’s Sara and Hayden look set to suffer another harsh blow following their controversial bathroom renovation.

After judges Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and John McGrath slammed their $75,000 efforts on Sunday, their co-stars have no joined in bashing them.

Unseen footage aired on 9Now shows contestants Bianca, Carla, Kerrie, Spence and Norm sharing their opinions on the room that has divided Australia.

Kicking off the onslaught, Norm said: ‘I think the judges were right, they had too much going on. Like, it was just too much for their tiler.’

‘And if I’m being honest, it looked terrible.’

Carla then said: ‘You walked in and… I, I found myself looking at different corners. You didn’t know where to look.’

‘If I was to style it I wouldn’t put everything in that they did.’

Continuing to share her opinion, Carla added: ‘They did go for the win and push boundaries which is what you’ve got to do in the competition, but spending that much on a bathroom to potentially [win] $10,000 back – the math doesn’t add up.’

Carla’s partner on the show said: ‘I can not believe that they’ve spent $75,000 on a bathroom! When you looked in there it just didn’t look like they spent that much…’

The brunette then jokingly claimed the couple may have broken the show’s rules by using the staggering sum for an impromptu trip to Indonesia instead.

She added: ‘Maybe they went to Bali, and just paid their tradies – and that’s why it cost that value of money?’

Spence’s opinion wasn’t much more positive, stating: ‘There were a few bad designs. For me, the toilet, that was a silly thing to do!’

‘Why make a feature out of a toilet when you walk through a door? Are you designing for someone with a bladder problem?’

However, he did add: ‘Overall, it wasn’t a bad bathroom.’

Taking Sara and Hayden’s feelings into account, Kerrie then delivered the most balanced of views on the controversial bathroom.

She said: ‘I was cautious that Hayden and Sara have been pretty slammed for their ensuite so I was curious to have a look.’

‘I was expecting a disaster but it wasn’t so bad.’

After the judges savaged the apparently ‘ugly’ room, Sara addressed claims of unfair judgement towards her and Hayden earlier in the season as the couple came last during a previous challenge.

In a tearful interview, the mother-of-one said: ‘I feel like it’s a personal attack on me. Like, why are the judges picking everything on me? When other contestants are doing the exact same thing.

‘It’s like they’re looking for things in our rooms just to critique. It’s completely unfair. There’s a gun range and we’re the targets.’
