Earlier this week, The Block stars Deanne and Darren Jolly confirmed they had separated after 13 years of marriage. 

And on Tuesday night, A Current Affair revealed that the retired AFL player had undergone a body transformation before the split was announced. 

Darren, 37, had taken part in the F45 Eight-Week Challenge and lost more than 16kg.

In the weeks leading up to his split announcement, Darren had shared before-and-after photos to Instagram documenting his weight loss. 

He captioned one of these posts: ‘Ten weeks ago my life was f**ked. A long slow build-up of too many stressful things finally broke me and pushed me into a very dark place.

‘After stepping off the scales back then at 122.9kg, I decided I needed to do something about it to get my life back on track.’

On Friday, a ‘devastated’ Deanne confirmed the couple’s split.

The 49-year-old told the Herald Sun: ‘This is a very difficult time for me and my girls. We have been blindsided and left devastated by Darren’s action.

‘But I’m focusing on my two daughters who are my number one priority. Please respect our privacy while we move on.’

The couple, who were known as ‘Daz and Dea’ on The Block, married in 2004 and share two children together: Scarlett, 12, and Lilly, 10. 

The reason for their separation is currently unknown. 

Darren and Deanne walked away with just $10,000 during their first appearance on The Block in 2015. They fared better the following year, taking home $935,000.
