The Block: Tanya Guccione strips down to a bikini to share a powerful body positivity message

She often urges her followers to ‘be kind’, after facing online backlash over her involvement in The Block’s cheating scandal this season.

But Tanya Guccione was spreading messages of positivity long before her appearance on the series, as an unearthed image from 2019 shows.

The mother-of-two, 39, took to Instagram to share a powerful post about body positivity, alongside a stunning photograph of herself wearing a black bikini.

Love the skin you’re in: The Block star Tanya Guccione shared an important message about body positivity in 2019, alongside this stunning image of herself on the beach in a black bikini

‘This is a really hard picture to post,’ she began in her caption. ‘Most of you would think, “Really dude, it’s So NOT!” So I’m getting over myself and posting it anyway.

‘I swore I’d never be the person to post my body on the gram. But yesterday it was for a whole other reason, and so here I am! Surgery scars, flabby belly, no fake tan, cellulite (cuz everyone has it) and all!”

She went on to say that the grin on her face was ‘the smile of freedom’, adding: ‘I LOVE this body! She’s bloody amazing! That little voice that says otherwise can F off!

‘My prayer is that every woman would have this freedom! I hope to inspire my generation, the baby boomers and the gen X’s (mid thirties plus!) that change is coming!’

Disappointment: Tanya went on to say that she had witnessed many of her friends break down and refuse to wear bikinis because they didn't feel they were 'the right weight'

Tanya went on to say that she had witnessed many of her friends break down and refuse to wear bikinis because they didn’t feel they were ‘the right weight’.

‘I know this all sounds like, “Please girls, (eye roll) first world problems” – but this is a problem,’ she added. ‘It’s a problem because I’ve seen it first hand ruin lives and hold men and women back from there true potential.

‘Us Gen X’s grew up in diet culture, that notion that “you must have it all together because your pretty and THIN” Gah! PLEASE!”

She continued by saying the thinks it is ‘archaic, superficial and dumb’ that society continues to mention people’s appearances all the time.

'My prayer is that every woman would have this freedom! I hope to inspire my generation, the baby boomers and the gen X's (mid thirties plus!) - the change is coming,' Tanya added. Pictured alongside her husband Vito on The Block

‘Is that all we see?’ she added. ‘Let me tell you the next generation are pathing the way and I’m tagging along for the ride – because I am boycotting the culture that says you need to be a certain body to be a somebody!’

Away from the show, Tanya is a successful makeup artist who works her magic on her masses of clients, including a number of celebrities.

She and her husband Vito have hit headlines constantly during this season of The Block, after Tanya confessed to being part of the show’s biggest scandal in its 17-year history.

The purple-haired reality star became public enemy number one after an ‘anonymous tradie’ sent her a photo of the show’s production schedule, giving her and Vito – plus the Packham twins – an unfair advantage over their rivals.

The teams did have two points deducted from their basement challenge as a punishment, but the scandal has been the main talking point of the show ever since.

Tanya later shared a post on Instagram urging her followers to ‘be kind’ in light of the backlash she and Vito received online.

She posted a photo of herself with ‘Be Kind’ written on her chest and hand, and added: ‘#BeKind that’s #MyTruth.

‘Especially when you have no idea what a person may be going through, just be kind!

‘Anxiety and mental health is real. Some may think they know who we are based on a TV show; those who know us, know us and that’s what matters. Far out…

‘So much to say but that’s all for now.’
