From scoring unfair discounts on expensive décor to getting tradies to do extra work, The Block is no stranger to cheating scandals.

Though rarely discussed on camera, eight golden rules have been put in place which all Blockheads must follow throughout filming.

Rule number one demands contestants have to do their own painting, according to Domain.

This came after Blockheads Josh and Luke Packham’s scandal during season 17 back in 2021.

The twin brothers upset fans and other contestants when they brought in a builder to help with the paint job.

The second rule is for contestants to work to schedule, which means no getting a head start on any part of construction.

Tanya Guccione and husband Vito rocked viewers in the 2021 season after it was revealed they took a photo of the productio,  which was usually kept a secret from contestants.

This rule will now be easier to enforce, since contestants in the current season have been presented with the schedule – a week-by-week guide to what rooms the team will be renovating.

The third rule states no contestants can do ‘noisy work’ between 7am and 6pm.

Painting, plastering and other low noise impact tasks are allowed.

The fourth demands all contestants have to do all their own interior design work.

Meanwhile, contestants are not permitted to a 50 per cent discount on any trades goods.

This rule came after best mates Omar and Oz spent an exorbitant amount on their home on season 2022 of the show.
