The Block’s notorious Hell Week is set to kick off.

But twins Josh and Luke Packham struggle to complete the hallway and laundry – which are arguably the most difficult rooms in the competition.

Luke told TV Week:’ Josh and I had an idea of what we wanted to do in each room but never really thought much about how to connect them and what to do with the halls. It was only once we’d started that we realised what a big job that is.’

He explained how problems started when the plasterers weren’t able to begin work when they needed to.

This then caused other delays, which made it difficult for the twins to complete their rooms on time.

‘At the end of the day, hallways are hard. They’re a lot harder than we’d thought and they really caught up with us. It all started getting overwhelming and we just thought this is it – we aren’t going to finish,’ Luke explained.

Meanwhile, a trailer released on Monday shows the Fans teams buckling under the pressure.

The Gucciones and The Packhams find themselves out of their depth after blowing their budgets trying to complete the hallway and laundry.

Even the returning Faves teams run into difficulties, with Ronnie Caceres saying: ‘You think you’ve got it in control, but you don’t.’

But it’s Tanya who feels the most pressure, with the teaser showing her wiping away tears and placing her head in her hands.

Her husband Vito also looks exhausted and stressed out.

In addition to completing the hallways and laundry rooms, it appears some of the couples also begin work on backyard pools – adding to the stress of Hell Week.

The Block continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
