During Sunday night’s finale of the program, the host garnered viewer backlash after he told contestants Bianca Chatfield and Carla Dziwoki that their auction results were ‘not bad for a couple of single girls’
But speaking exclusively with Daily Mail Australia on Monday, Hayden and Sara said they believe Scott’s comment is actually ’empowering’.

‘I don’t find it sexist at all!’ Sara remarked, adding: ‘It’s actually quite a powerful statement!’
‘There’s nothing sexist about it (the comment). It’s empowering to know that as women they can do really well, and be noted on it!’ she further told Daily Mail Australia.
And while the couple – who are expecting their second child – dismissed claims that Scott was sexist, they did reveal that the TV tradie was excited when he learned the gender of their baby.

‘I mean, he was really excited that Hayden was having a boy!’ Sara said.
Meanwhile, Sara and Hayden praised best friends Bianca and Carla, who were the only female duo on The Block.
The two women walked away with a combined $301,000 in prize money.

On Sunday night, outraged viewers of The Block quickly took to Twitter after Scott made his now-infamous comment.

Meanwhile, another raged: ‘Bet Bianca and Cara aren’t gonna miss Scottie’s old crusty, sexist sh** and the height jokes..’
Another joined in, penning: ‘Casual sexism from Scotty, disappointed but not surprised’.
