The Block’s Neale Whitaker shows off his stunning newly renovated country house

As a judge on The Block, Neale Whitaker is accustomed to critiquing other people’s homes.

But now the 56-year-old interior designer is giving fans a glimpse into his own.

Taking to Instagram, Neale has shared a series of images of his newly renovated country home in Bundewallah on the New South Wales South Coast in recent months.

Clearly excited by the progress he’s been making, Neale has been showing off separate rooms throughout the property as it nears completion.

‘OK so the boxes aren’t unpacked and we can’t use the kitchen yet, but there’s always time for a vignette, right?’ he wrote on Instagram back in September, showing off some of his furnishings, including a white chair and dark wooden side table housing artworks, books and a lamp.

Neale first purchased the sprawling property with his longtime partner David Novak-Piper back in July.

The couple traded in their Sydney apartment in favour of a quieter life in the country, revealing their new home even came with a 27-year-old horse named Bill.

‘Is Friday the 13th an auspicious date to settle on a new property? @davidnovakpiper and I are taking it as a good omen for the next phase in our journey. #NewBeginnings #treechange #newhome #countryliving #countrystyle #southernhighlands #NSW #Australia,’ he wrote on Instagram at the time.

Neale revealed the couple and their two dogs were ‘camping’ in the home as they got to work renovating the property, having officially moved in back in September.

‘Pre-renovation camping out at the new house with little essentials like tribal shields and a Grasshoppa lamp,’ he wrote on Instagram.

But in recent months, the home has started to take shape, with Neale proudly sharing photos on Instagram.

‘Home doesn’t happen overnight but Bundewallah is starting to feel like one. An Afghan runner always helps,’ he wrote on Instagram, showing off the home’s open plan living and dining room.

‘Homes tell stories and ours is beginning to talk!’ Neale wrote on Instagram earlier this month.
