Scott Cam has revealed this year’s contestants on The Block will be doing it tough on Monday night’s premiere.
The renovation show’s host dropped a brutal surprise on the Blockheads – they will be camping on the building site.
While this typically happens during the first few nights, Scott revealed that the teams won’t stop roughing it any time soon.
On previous seasons, contestants start by building a bedroom in their homes, allowing them to have a space to stay in as they work on the rest of the house.
However, on this season, the first room the Blockheads must construct is the main bathroom, which means all five teams will be camping in tents on-site for at least the first week of the competition.
The tents for the contestants were offered on a first come, first serve basis.
One lucky couple managed to grab a spacious six-person shelter, while another ended up with a cramped two-person tent that barely allowed them to sit up inside.
In a preview of scenes set to air later this week, WA carpenter Jesse has a meltdown in his tent on day two, feeling completely overwhelmed by the task ahead, while his fiancée Paige attempts to comfort him.

It comes as Scott revealed that contestants on the recent seasons have less grit than they did 20 years ago, when the show began.
‘The contestants are less resilient than they were 20 years ago, 15 years ago,’ Cam told news.com.au last week.
The current series of The Block was filmed earlier this year in the popular Victorian tourism hotspot Phillip Island.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal a Channel Nine-owned company purchased Island Cove Villas on the Victorian Island for a whopping $9.5million.
Situated two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne, the site currently features nine homes, a communal pool, a BBQ pavilion, tennis court and a children’s playground.
The Block continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
