The Bush family are celebrating their first Christmas without two very important people – President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara.

Jenna Bush Hager took to Instagram Monday afternoon to post a family selfie, featuring her husband Chase, parents President George W. Bush and Laura, and twin sister Barbara with her new husband Craig.

The youngest of the crew are Jenna’s daughter’s Mila, five, and Poppy, three, who is see munching on a Christmas cookie in the adorable snap.

While the family were all smiles in the photo, it comes at the end of a year of tears over the loss of Barbara in April and POTUS 41 last month.

‘Merry Christmas from the Family!’ Jenna, a host for TODAY, wrote as her caption.

She also posted a sweet Instagram story of her two daughters sitting in front of the fireplace on Christmas Eve.

The girls were matching in pink nightgowns while stockings were hung by the chimney behind them.

The eldest Mila jumps up and says: ‘Merry Christmas and all a good night!’

It appears Christmas selfies have become a tradition for Jenna.

In 2016 the same crew, minus Barbara’s new husband, posed in front of the same stone cross at the Bush’s Texas family ranch.

Last year the family went a little more professional, opting for someone else to take the group photo.

Last week, Jenna recounted a few of her favorite memories from Christmas at the White House with TODAY host Savannah Guthrie.

‘Reading with my sweet grandpa the night before Christmas, that was a tradition,’ she said of the late president.

She also said she often thinks of her father reading the Bible to her and Barbara on Christmas Eve when they were young.

‘I think of people more than places,’ Jenna said ahead of the holiday. ‘I don’t know why, but that’s where I go. And we’ll be with them again, so I’m excited!
