The Chase Australia star Mark Labbett broke his silence on Wednesday after his shock split from his British television presenter girlfriend Hayley Palmer.

The quizmaster, 58, known by his nickname The Beast, shared a photo to social media capturing him rocking his slimmed-down figure while eating soup.

Mark was all smiles in the heartwarming picture as he flaunted his slender frame to the camera, while preparing to dip a piece of bread into the dish.

‘Now to try and get some leg strength back in the gym. The one downside to losing so much weight.’

Last month, Labbett announced his split from girlfriend Hayley Palmer, after one year together.

Mark and 42-year-old Sky Entertainment reporter Hayley marked their one year anniversary on social media in May – but he later now claimed there was too much of an age gap between them.

Confirming news of their break-up on Instagram, Palmer wrote: ‘It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future.’

A source told The Sun: ‘Mark had a lovely time with Hayley and has a lot of respect for her but they wanted different things.

‘She loves getting dressed up and going out to parties and showbiz events, whereas he prefers to stay at home.

‘Mark felt there was too much of an age gap between them for long-term success. They are still friendly.

‘Away from his job on telly and filming, Mark enjoys a quiet life and spending time with his son. He is still hopeful he can meet someone to settle down with one day.’

The pair had been dating since early 2023, with Mark previously admitting he was a ‘very very lucky man’ to be with her.

Sources claimed the star wooed the TV presenter on a string of dates after being ‘friends for some time’, following his split from his wife Katie in 2020.
