‘Still a long way to go!’ The Chase star Mark Labbett shows off his slimmer physique after losing weight during the coronavirus lockdown
He’s best known for his imposing presence on hit ITV game show The Chase, but Mark Labbett looks a shadow of his former self after embarking on a new diet during lockdown.
While many Brits have overindulged on food and drink during the coronavirus crisis, Labbett – commonly referred to as ‘The Beast’ by fans of the popular show – has used his time wisely by attempting to slim down.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the 6ft 6ins general knowledge whizz, 54, showed off the results of his strict new diet by pulling on a pair of old trousers for a selfie.

Illustrating his weight loss by pulling their larger waistline away from his body, Labbett appeared to be pleased with his progress – but conceded he still hadn’t crossed the finish line.
Captioning the shot, he wrote: ‘Lost a bit of waistline, still a long way to go.’
Fans of the star were quick to congratulate him on his efforts, with the post prompting a string of encouraging responses.

Labbett’s latest drop in weight comes after he lost two-and-a-half stone thanks to a healthy new lifestyle in 2019.
The TV personality, who topped 378lbs at his heaviest, looked notably slimmer in pictures taken while he was participating in a pub quiz in Teeside.
Detailing his weight loss on social media at the time, he admitted the ramatic change to his physical appearance resulted in him needing a new wardrobe of clothes for his regular appearances on The Chase.
He wrote: ‘lost four inches off my chest and six inches off my belly in last six months. So they have bought me a new suit for the show. First target achieved [sic].’
