The Chase viewers are all saying the same thing as they spot a royal connection with the contestants

Viewers of The Chase were left distracted this week as they spotted a royal connection between the four contestants.

The ITV gameshow, fronted by Bradley Walsh, welcomed players Henry, Liz, Tudor, and Mary as they hoped to beat the chaser and walk home with some money.

But keen viewers noticed a funny connection between the players’ names and the British Royal Family.

Host Bradley appeared to not notice the very regal quartet of names, with each the name of a former monarch.

Taking to Twitter to point out the link, one viewer wrote: ‘So #TheChase tonight on #ITV are having a laugh. Spot the connection in the names!’

From Henry VII to Mary I and Elizabeth II, each name has a very strong royal connection – with fans convinced that producers put them together on purpose.

While the team had a strong set of names, their day jobs aren’t quite as regal as the monarchy.

Mary is a 49-year-old Children’s Nurse from Wigan, Henry, 70, a retired insurance adjuster from Essex, 28-year-old Liz, an operations coordinater from Stockport and Tudor, 57, a data migration specialist from Kent.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: ‘Royal event today,’ while another agreed: ‘Can’t get over this lineup on #thechase very 16th century’.

Pointing out Bradley’s lack of notice, a third tweeted: ‘Brad never noticed the names connection?’

It comes after Chaser Paul Sinha discussed his battle with Parkinson’s disease on last week as he took to social media to comment on a recent episode.

The quizzer, 52, who was diagnosed with the condition in 2019, shared on Twitter to that he was ‘chatty’ in the episode because of his medication.

Paul was seen speaking to the contestants that are trying to beat him and win the prize and host Bradley.

He wrote: ‘A lot of these episodes were when my Parkinsons meds were making me very chatty. I can only apologise. #TheChase.’

However, fans rallied around to support him, praising him for his work on the show.

One person wrote: ‘You are great Paul’ while a second added: ‘Why you apologising you are giving a lot of people suffering with Parkinsons hope and inspiration.’

A third said: ‘I think you’re brilliant! I love your conversation.’

Meanwhile, a separate person added their support, writing: ‘Absolutely no need and good on you, you’re delightful’.
