The chilling note left for a pregnant woman after her dog’s barking annoyed her neighbours

A pregnant woman has been left reeling after she found a frightening note in her letterbox threatening to kill her dogs.

Hayley Ward, 36, lives alone in the Noosa suburb of Marcus Beach, south-east Queensland, and found the note from one of her neighbours on Sunday morning.

‘Shut your f***ing dog up or I will bait it,’ the handwritten note read.

Ms Ward has two mixed-breed staffies, Lucy and Milo, and was left ‘horrified’ and ‘mortified’ by the ‘disgusting’ note, she told Yahoo 7News.

‘I live on my own, I need this protection, I don’t have a partner,’ she said.

‘It’s a threat, I don’t need this bulls***, I am four months along, about to have my first baby.’

The surf club supervisor believes she knows which neighbour left the note but is baffled, as she stressed that Lucy and Milo bark no more than the average dog.

‘They’re not aggressive dogs, I’ve put a fence up on the side [of the house] so they are not too close to the front,’ she said.

She added that the dogs are walked daily and have a huge yard to run around in.

While Ms Ward doesn’t believe the culprit would actually carry out their threat, she has put barking collars on Lucy and Milo as a precaution.

Ms Ward filed a police report this afternoon and told reporters that she wants police to visit the note-writer and tell them to mind their own business.

She is also planning on photocopying the note and delivering it to her other neighbours to make them aware of the threat she received.
