Those wanting to give it a try should pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and use tissue to grease a muffin tin with olive oil or substitute.

‘Crack in your eggs to the muffin tin,’ the Gut Started team said.  

‘Then, season them with salt and pepper.’

The eggs should then be left to cook in the oven for between 10 and 12 minutes, depending on how firm or runny you prefer them.

Once the eggs have set, remove the muffin tin from the oven, run a butter knife around the edges and remove them from the tray to serve.

The eggs work perfectly with both a cooked breakfast and on toast with avocado, butter or Vegemite.
