  • Around a dozen pigs hogtied a Minnesota highway on Friday morning after the semi-truck carrying them flipped over 
  • The cause of the single-vehicle accident is currently unknown, but the driver was uninjured 
  • Several pigs died in the accident and crews huddled the remaining ones near the guardrail to protect them 

Around a dozen pigs hogtied a Minnesota highway on Friday after semi-truck overturned, bringing traffic to a standstill. 

More than three little pigs found themselves scattered across I-694 around 7:30am after the driver hauling the semi-truck got into an accident and caused the vehicle to flip onto its side. 

The cause of the single-vehicle accident is unknown and the highway is expected to be shut down until around 1pm. The driver was uninjured.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s cameras caught the moment officials were trying to corral the group of pigs in the eastbound lane. 

Several officials in yellow vests were seen keeping a close eye on the pigs that they had cornered off behind the semi-truck. 

The pigs waited calmly behind the vehicle as crews worked to right the metal semi-truck after they were corralled from in-between cars on the roadway, NBC Chicago reported.

Several pigs died in the accident, according to NBC Chicago. 

The state police posted a phot of the dirty pigs, who were snacking on grass while they waiting. 

Police are still investigating the cause of the incident and have advised drivers to find alternative routes.
