The incredible food that will be served at the London Stadium during Red Sox-Yankees

Could YOU finish baseball’s biggest hot dog? The £24, two-foot, 2,000-calorie, 1.5kg Boomstick designed to feed a family of FOUR is on the menu at this weekend’s Red Sox v Yankees games in London

  • Major League Baseball is coming to London for the first time for two regular season games at the weekend
  • This weekend will see the New York Yankees face off against the Boston Red Sox in east London
  • Sportsmail had a look at some of the incredible food that will be dished out during the matches this weekend

Picture a game of baseball and it’s impossible not to think of the food.

And while the stars of Major League Baseball are the main attraction at the London Stadium this weekend, just as exciting is the food they’re bringing with them.

Not least the Boomstick, a 24-inch hot dog that has been a regular at grounds in the US over recent years.

It weighs a 1.5 kilograms and is topped with cheese, beef chilli, jalapeno peppers and comes with a calorie count of over 2,000 – or the recommended daily intake for an adult.

While it is designed to be shared between four or five people, it is not hard to see one person chowing down on the £24 meal.

There are also the Boomstick nachos, which is a large portion of nachos covered in the same toppings as the hot dog.

That will cost £19 for any punters at the London Stadium.

To prepare for a weekend in which they expect to shift 1,500 of each Boomstick product, the chefs are preparing 3,000 kilos of chilli.

The chefs have also worked with Mondo Brewery to craft a special beer for the series. It is a pale IPA.

There are also two unique cocktails that will be served. They are the New Yorker, which is gin based, and the Bostonian, a Caribbean dark rum drink that includes chai tea.

Also available to eat are the prime burger, the vegetarian dirty beets burger, the fat rooster chicken burger and home plate nachos, plus a selection of sausages.

Over the weekend, fans at the stadium are expected to get through 25,000 hot dogs and sausages, 15,000 chicken burgers, 6,000 chicken tenders, 27,000 burgers, 650kgs of bacon, a tonne of peanuts and two tonnes of nacho cheese sauce.

As expected, there will be hawkers walking throughout the stands on Saturday and Sunday, offering up a series of food and drink — which means people will not have to leave their seats for some items on the menu.
